One of the most scary statements I've ever heard was: You always turn out to be like your parents.
Oh god, I hope not.
I wanted to get on the subject on music for a second. Since I can never state in words exactly why i like the music that i like on the spot... I decided to make note of why metal music, in particular, is important to me.
Metal/hardcore/other-cores (Yes, new metal. Such as Job For A Cowboy, Unearth, Whitechapel, etc.) is not only about killing someone and fucking their rotted corpse. It comes along with a culture.
This culture, which I take part in, you could say, is one that finds comfort in angry music. Why would you feel better from listening to a Cannibal Corpse album? Why do you have fun punching someone in the face while listening to a skinny, tattooed, British guy wail on stage? No fucking clue.

But it's fun.
And once your in, you are never out. You instantly belong if you just have fun. No one gives a damn.
Metal and punk culture are so very alike, yet so far apart.
You have to understand: This is a way of getting out there and being yourself for a few hours. These kinds of music can be:
1. A way for you to hide behind an image (which is known as the occasional poser/scene bitch.)
or
2. To be free to sharing how you are or how you feel and to have an awesome time.
Do NOT judge someone for listening to shitty music or for those bands to have "no talent".
I'd like to see you double bass as fast as someone in one of those bands, dickhead.
